The Mensa Education & Research Foundation is a philanthropic, nonprofit organization committed to the pursuit of excellence in human intelligence. Their mission and strategic focus are directed at scholarships, education and awards. Applicants should write an essay of around 550 words explaining their career, academic and/or vocational goals and how they plan to achieve those goals. Applicants must be enrolled in a degree program in an accredited U.S. institution of higher learning during the academic year following the application date.

Eligibility: 2.0 GPA. Be a senior in a high school in San Diego County and a resident of San Diego County for the last year. Plan to attend an accredited college or university in San Diego County full-time in the Fall and Spring. Demonstrate a financial need and complete FAFSA or Dream Act. James L McPheters California Coast Credit Union High School Scholarship Program

The Cal Coast Cares Foundation is pleased to provide the James L McPheters California Coast Credit Union High School Scholarship Program. 20 scholarships for $2,000 each will be awarded to college-bound high school seniors and current college students who are in or have been in the foster care program in San Diego or Riverside County.  Students receiving the Foster Student Scholarship are eligible for another $2,000 the following year by continuing to maintain the requirements. The scholarships will be awarded to assist foster and former foster students in furthering their education at accredited colleges or universities.
