American Legion National High School Oratorical Contest

The American Legion Legacy Scholarship is a needs-based scholarship designed to fulfill a financial gap remaining after all federal and state educational grants/scholarships available to an eligible applicant have been utilized. It is open to children of U.S. military members who died while on active duty on or after Sept. 11, 2001. Children of post-9/11 veterans having been assigned a combined disability rating of 50 percent or greater by the Department of Veterans Affairs also qualify. Each needs-based scholarship provides up to $20,000 for children of the fallen, and up to $5,000 for children of the disabled for undergraduate or post-graduate college.

Project Yellow Light/Hunter Garner Scholarship is a scholarship competition designed to encourage high school and college students to promote the need to embrace safe driving habits. The competition will award a video, billboard design, or radio spot created to motivate, persuade, and encourage peers to not drive distracted. The competition takes various forms, it is a video, billboard, and radio competition: Videos are due April 1. Billboard designs are due March 1. Radio Recordings are due April 1.

The American Fire Sprinkler Association created the college scholarship program to help with the educational and training pursuits of students just like you. A competitive scholarship for seniors at Crawford High School. It is funded and administered by Price Philanthropies and San Diego Foundation. The Scholarship was established to honor the memories of Joe and Dorothy Goldberg who lived in the Talmadge neighborhood for many years and were friends of the Price family. Applicants should be planning to attend a 4-year college/university, have a minimum weighted GPA of 3.0, be able to demonstrate financial need to attend college/university, and have one Letter of Recommendation submitted by the deadline.

The Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Stephen Effron who graduated from Hoover High School in 1959 and was the cousin of Robert Price. American Foreign Service Association National High School Essay Contest

This scholarship contest is open to high school students in grades 9-12 who are US citizens. Students must submit an essay on a given topic related to the Foreign Service. An award of $2,500 will be given to the writer of the winning essay, in addition to a paid trip to the nation’s capital from anywhere in the U.S. for the winner and his or her parents, and an all-expense paid educational voyage courtesy of Semester at Sea.

The Cal Coast Cares Foundation is pleased to provide the James L McPheters California Coast Credit Union High School Scholarship Program.
